
{"id":8468,"date":"2022-02-28T18:58:42","date_gmt":"2022-02-28T23:58:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/education.delaware.gov\/diaa\/?p=8468"},"modified":"2022-02-28T19:00:26","modified_gmt":"2022-03-01T00:00:26","slug":"2022-diaa_boys_basketball_revision","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/education.delaware.gov\/diaa\/2022\/02\/28\/2022-diaa_boys_basketball_revision\/","title":{"rendered":"2022 DIAA Boys Basketball Bracket &#8211; Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><strong>Dover, DE<\/strong> (February 28, 2022) &#8211; The Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) boys basketball committee met last Friday to seed the 2022 boys basketball tournament.\u00a0 The committee verified all out\u200b-of-state opponent records prior to the meeting.\u00a0 <span lang=\"en-US\">After releasing the boys basketball bracket,\u00a0<\/span>DIAA received an official appeal by the deadline<span lang=\"en-US\">.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0\u00a0DIAA<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span>received corrected out<span style=\"color: #000000\">&#8211;<\/span>of\u200b-state opponent record information through the verification for the appeal. \u00a0The updated record impacted the index points and created a 3-way tie between Delcastle, Polytech, and Mt. Pleasant for the 24<sup>th<\/sup> and final seed in the tournament &#8211; the index was 1.8 for each team.\u00a0\u00a0The first requirement for the tie-breaker scenario is head-to-head competition, but this was not used because all teams did not play each other.\u00a0 The second tie-breaking procedure was used<span lang=\"en-US\">:<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span>win-loss percentage against common opponents.\u00a0 All three tied teams played Hodgson.\u00a0 Delcastle and Mt.
