
{"id":8452,"date":"2022-02-26T14:57:59","date_gmt":"2022-02-26T19:57:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/education.delaware.gov\/diaa\/?p=8452"},"modified":"2022-02-26T14:57:59","modified_gmt":"2022-02-26T19:57:59","slug":"2022_diaa-basketball-state-championships_brackets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/education.delaware.gov\/diaa\/2022\/02\/26\/2022_diaa-basketball-state-championships_brackets\/","title":{"rendered":"2022 DIAA Basketball State Championship Brackets Announced"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><strong>Dover, DE<\/strong> (February 26, 2022) &#8211; The Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) girls, boys, and unified basketball championship brackets were released yesterday.\u00a0 The 2022 boys and girls basketball championship format returns to a 24 team tournament field, after the tournament format in 2021 was open to all teams.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The DIAA Basketball <span class=\"mark9z4zhz6ja\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">Championship<\/span>s will be hosted by the higher seeded team through the quarterfinals. The Boys and Girls semifinals and finals will return to the University of Delaware for the first time since 2019. The 2020 <span class=\"mark9z4zhz6ja\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">championship<\/span>\u00a0was not played due to the COVID-19 health pandemic and the 2021 basketball\u00a0<span class=\"mark9z4zhz6ja\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">championship<\/span>s were hosted at Dover High School.\u00a0 DIAA has received an official appeal for the boys basketball bracket.\u00a0 An out of state school&#8217;s record is currently under review and a decision will be made on Monday.<\/div>\n<h5>Please note all tournament round match ups, dates, locations, and tip off times on the brackets.<\/h5>\n<div>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/education.delaware.gov\/diaa\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/Basketball-2022-Brackets.v4.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Boys Basketball Bracket<\/a><\/h4>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/education.delaware.gov\/diaa\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/GIRLS-Basketball-2022-Brackets.3.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Girls Basketball Bracket<\/a><\/h4>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/education.delaware.gov\/diaa\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/2022UnifiedBasketballBracket.v2.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Unified Basketball Bracket<\/a><\/h4>\n<div>\n<h4>Ticket Information<\/h4>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>Tickets for girls and boys first round games will go on sale Monday, February 28, at 7:00am.\u00a0 Tickets for boys second round games will go on sale on Wednesday, March 2, at 7:00am.\u00a0 Tickets for girls second round games will go on sale on Thursday, March 3, at 7:00am.\u00a0 No cash tickets will be sold onsite at championship events and all tickets for the first, second, and quarterfinal rounds must be purchased through <a href=\"https:\/\/gofan.co\/app\/school\/DIAA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GoFan.<\/a>\u00a0 DIAA has created a resource page <a href=\"https:\/\/education.delaware.gov\/diaa\/sport_championships\/digital-ticketing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">(click here to visit)<\/a> to assist with answering frequently asked questions and other troubleshooting issues about digital ticketing fans may have.\u00a0 Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets ahead of time.\u00a0 Tickets for the semifinals and finals which will be held at the University of Delaware, can be purchased through the University&#8217;s digital ticket vendor.\u00a0 More ticket information for the semifinals and finals will be released later next week.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>First, Second, Quarterfinal rounds &#8211; $5.00 Students (K-12) and Adults, Kids Under 4 &#8211; free<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>Semifinal &amp; Finals &#8211; $10.00 Students (K-12) and Adults<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><i>*Spectators interested in attending any <span class=\"mark9z4zhz6ja\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">championship<\/span> events at the University of Delaware should be aware of the University&#8217;s basketball spectator event policies which are<\/i>\u00a0<\/span><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">listed in their\u00a0entirety <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/bluehens.com\/sports\/2021\/9\/26\/delaware-athletics-health-and-safety-attendance-guidelines.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here.\u00a0<\/a><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">*Proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test is required for all persons purchasing DIAA championship event tickets.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h4><strong>Live Streaming<\/strong><\/h4>\n<div><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nfhsnetwork.com\/associations\/diaa\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\">NFHSNetwork<\/a> is the official partner of the DIAA State Championship and will select certain games to stream live.\u00a0 Broadcast fees apply except for livestreams by school-owned websites or school controlled webpages.<\/div>\n<div>\n<h4><strong>Media<\/strong><\/h4>\n<div>Media with an approved and issued DIAA 2021-2022 credential will be permitted entry to tournament events.\u00a0 Media should contact DIAA in advance to request live broadcast at any event.
