{"id":7613,"date":"2021-11-29T12:00:50","date_gmt":"2021-11-29T12:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/education.delaware.gov\/diaa\/?p=7613"},"modified":"2021-11-29T05:23:26","modified_gmt":"2021-11-29T05:23:26","slug":"diaa-championships-ud","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/education.delaware.gov\/diaa\/2021\/11\/29\/diaa-championships-ud\/","title":{"rendered":"DIAA Football Championships Return to the University of Delaware"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><strong>Dover, DE\u00a0<\/strong>(November 29, 2021) \u2013 The Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) announced today that the DIAA Football Class 1A, 2A, 3A, and Unified Flag Football championships are returning to the University of Delaware for the first time since 2019.\u00a0The football championships were not played at the University of Delaware in 2020 due to the COVID-19 health pandemic.\u00a0\u00a0Fans interested in attending the championship games need to be aware of the University of Delaware\u2019s football spectator event policies and procedures as listed below.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Championship Information:<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Date:<\/strong>\u00a0Saturday, December 11, 2021<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Venue:\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Delaware Stadium at David M. Nelson Athletic Complex, University of Delaware<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Championships Schedule:\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>11:00 a.m. \u2013 2A (Gates open at 10:00 a.m.)<\/li>\n<li>1:30 p.m. \u2013 Unified Flag Football<\/li>\n<li>3:30 p.m. \u2013 3A<\/li>\n<li>6:00 p.m. \u2013 1A<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong>Ticket Information:\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>Fans can purchase one general admission ticket and stay for all four championship games.\u00a0General admission tickets will cost\u00a0$10.00.\u00a0Club level seating will cost\u00a0$20.00.\u00a0Tickets will go on sale on Monday, December 6 through the University of Delaware.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>All attendees at University of Delaware\u2019s football athletic events ages 12 and older, must provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or a negative PCR coronavirus test taken within 72 hours of the event. &#8220;Full vaccination&#8221; means that guests have received their final COVID-19 vaccine dose at least 14 days in advance of the day of the game. Authentic proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test will be accepted as long as the test was taken within 72 hours of the day of the game through a medical or accredited company; please note that &#8220;at home tests&#8221; will not be accepted.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The University of Delaware has developed a digital system to allow external visitors to upload their COVID-19 vaccination or negative PCR COVID-19 test results before attending a UD-sponsored event.\u00a0The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/covidcheck.udel.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Visitor Events Health Pass<\/a>\u00a0replaces the need for visitors to show paper copies or photo images of vaccination or test records when entering an event. The pass is integrated with the online\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/covidcheck.udel.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">UD Daily Health Check<\/a>.
