is:<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li>to preserve and promote the educational significance of interscholastic athletics;<\/li>\n<li>to ensure that interscholastic athletics remain compatible with the educational mission of the member schools;<\/li>\n<li>to provide for fair and equitable competition between the member schools;<\/li>\n<li>to promote sportsmanship and ethical behavior;<\/li>\n<li>to establish and enforce standards of conduct for athletes, coaches, administrators, officials, and spectators;<\/li>\n<li>to protect the physical&nbsp;well-being&nbsp;of the athletes; and<\/li>\n<li>to promote healthy adolescent lifestyles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The DIAA is designated by the Secretary of Education to Regulation and oversee the conduct of interscholastic athletics in the State of The Board is now comprised of <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">17 members<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, including <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">15 voting members<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> and <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">2 nonvoting members<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. The place of each meeting shall be determined prior to giving notice of such meeting.<\/li>\n<li>There shall be an annual membership meeting.<\/li>\n<li>A majority of the members of the Board shall constitute a quorum. No motion, resolution or other act of the Association may be adopted without agreement of the majority of the whole Board.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Board\u2019s regular monthly meetings are open to the public and are scheduled for the second Thursday of the month, beginning at 9:00 am. All meetings are held at the John W.
