<\/span><\/div>Revised Concussion for Students Course <\/strong><\/span>Available on NFHS Learning Center <\/strong><\/span><\/h1><\/div>A new, revised version of the Concussion For Students <\/em><\/a> course has officially launched on the NFHS Learning Center, with the ongoing goal of raising awareness about concussion as a serious injury and to educate students nationwide on how to recognize the signs and symptoms of a concussion.<\/p>\nOriginally launched on July 1, 2016, the course has undergone a significant update, providing students with improved educational content, a fresh look, and enhanced learning experience.<\/p>\n
\u201cConcussions are an injury, and it’s vital that students understand the potential impact they can have,\u201d said Dan Schuster, NFHS Director of Educational Services. \u201cThe goal is to not only educate students, but to empower them to help their teammates and peers recognize when someone might be injured. This revision ensures that students are better equipped to handle concussions, whether they\u2019re on the field or in the classroom.\u201d<\/p>\n
Since the original course was launched almost nine years ago, about 1.8 million \u201cConcussion for Students\u201d courses have been accessed through the NFHS Learning Center, highlighting the growing demand for concussion education. The updated version builds on the core curriculum of the original course, with a focus on better engagement through video content, animated examples, and updated perspectives on concussion from a student\u2019s point of view.<\/p>\n
The updated Concussion For Students <\/em><\/a> online course is available for free on the Learning Center at www.NFHSLearn.com<\/a>.<\/p>\nOriginally established in 2007 as the NFHS Coach Education Program, the Learning Center has evolved from just two courses for coaches (Fundamentals of Coaching<\/em> and First Aid for Coaches<\/em>) to more than 100 online education courses, over 75 of which are free, and recently surpassed more than 25 million courses delivered.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n<\/div>
