Unified Basketball Tournament

Dover, De (February 26, 2019) – The Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) and Special Olympics Delaware (SODE) have partnered to promote Unified Sports in the sports of basketball, flag football and track and field.  Through this partnership, high school students with and without disabilities train and compete on the same team in the Unified Sports division that is recognized by the DIAA.

Unified Bracket

This year we will host the first DIAA State Unified Basketball Championships.  The following schools earned bids to participate for the title.

Blue Hen Conference

#1 Mt. Pleasant High School (8-0)

#2 Glasgow High School (5-1)

#3 William Penn High School (5-2)

#4 Newark Charter School (3-3)

Henlopen Conference

#1Caesar Rodney High School (6-0)

#2 Milford High School (4-2)

#3 Indian River High School (4-3)

#4 Dover High School (1-4)

The tournament opened on Monday, 2/25 where #2 Glasgow defeated #3 William Penn 47-45 advancing to the quarterfinal round. The quarterfinal round will be played on Wednesday, February 27th.  The semifinal round date and time to be determined.  The final round will take place at the University of Delaware Bob Carpenter Center at 11:30am on March 9th.  This game will be played prior to the boys state title game at 1pm.
