Nomination Statement<\/h2>\n

“Son of Alexander and Lori Smyth of Ocean View, Destin is a hardworking and well-rounded student who has a grade point average of 4.60. Destin has been involved in a variety of extracurricular activities including being a member of the Leo Club, the National Honor Society, the Indian River Robotics Club and the Math League. He also earned his Eagle Scout in October 2020. Furthermore, Destin has volunteered at the HALO Ministry Homeless Shelter and at ACTS Community Thrift Store. In the fall Destin plans to attend Georgia Institute of Technology and major in mechanical engineering.”<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

“I am majoring in Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Tech. My goal is to use engineering to build things to improve the lives of others. I have played in many band groups to have fun and bond with people. I value community service, and was in Boy Scouts and clubs to have volunteer opportunities.
