Nomination Statement
Ryan Caputo, son of Dawn Smith-Caputo and Francis Caputo, ranks first in his graduating class with a 4.561 GPA and serves as valedictorian at Newark High School. An AP Scholar with Distinction, he earned straight A’s in the school’s most rigorous courses. Ryan participates in Math League, National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Student Government, and the Academy of Artistic Expression. He competes in cross country andindoor and outdoor track, earning varsity Letters and Academic All-Conference honors. Planning to major in computer science and engineering, Ryan is recognized for his intellect, dedication, humility, and inclusive leadership qualities.

In my pursuit of these needs, I’ve met countless people and have had a multitude of unique experiences, each of which I’m grateful for. Behind it all are my parents, siblings, and friends; they have shaped me into who I am today and have always been there to support me when I’ve truly needed it.”
