Nomination Statement
Nischay Patel is a dedicated and prestigious student. Nischay has thrived through his rigorous course of study, due to his ability to exceed expectations. In addition to Nischay's impressive academic performance he displays impressive teamwork as he participates in varsity baseball and Odyssey of the Mind. Nischay also displays a talent and commitment to serve the youth by tutoring through programs like UrbanPromise and ENGin. He earned his Emergency Medical Responder certification and volunteers at Nemours Children's Hospital. Nischay is the co-founder and president of Serve and Supply, a nonprofit organization with the goal of serving underprivileged youth in Wilmington.
“As an avid lifter, I always defined myself by the weight I lifted; my battle with reactive arthritis taught me that true strength lies in allowing myself to be carried by my community. Embracing this vulnerability, I transitioned from patient to hospital volunteer, eventually driving me to launch my nonprofit, Serve & Supply. By equipping 1,200 under-resourced students with school supplies and life skills, this journey has redefined my understanding of strength as the weight I now help others carry.”
