Nomination Statement
Daughter of Jim and Maureen McLaughlin of Lewes, Shannon approaches life with a "can't stop, won't stop" attitude with a strong commitment to kindness and humanity. Shannon demonstrates a rock star status whether it's in competitive dance, serving in a student leadership role, selflessly giving back to the community, exhibiting professionalism and reliability in summer jobs or her determination of achieving mastery of content in all aspects of her academics. Shannon intends on majoring in chemistry and is currently weighing her college options as acceptances roll in.

My family, friends, teachers, and choreographers all helped me become the best version of myself. Each day I try to make that same positive impact on those around me. I hope to continue positivity impacting my communities in college and beyond just as those people have done for me.'”
