Nomination Statement
Myonnah Henry, daughter of Stacey and Patrick Henry, is enrolled in the Cosmetology Program at Paul M. Hodgson Vocational-Technical High School and is ranked first in her graduating class with a 4.08 cumulative GPA. Myonnah is not only an outstanding student but also athlete. She has earned varsity letters in volleyball and indoor and outdoor track and field, serving also as team captain for all three. Myonnah's accomplishments include placing in the top three at the Meet of Champs for track and field, earning nine medals. Her future plans include attending college to become a psychologist.
“Growing up I never felt that I had support from my birth family and friends. Being adopted always made me feel like everyone would give up on me and I always had to be hyperindependant. Honesty, I am still pretty independent, however, my parents always remind me that they are there for me and support me no matter what happens. Knowing I have support from my parents means so much and it motivates me to make them proud.”
