Nomination Statement
Daughter of Shante and Jason Hastings, Lillette Grace Hastings is a charismatic and ambitious student. She has a 4.64 GPA that she maintains while participating in sports, extracurricular activities, volunteering and working. Lillette is an IB Diploma candidate who is also a member of the varsity volleyball team, National Honor Society and the National Society of High School Scholars. She volunteers as an Audio/Video Assistant at Grace United Methodist Church and mentors at a local elementary school. Lillette plans to study medicine and psychology in college in order to fulfill her desire to become a pediatrician.
“The most inspirational and motivational people in my life are my family, specifically my parents, who have supported me every step of the way. My mother, who was just appointed as the Secretary of DelDOT, has inspired me to want to be a leader in my community. Along with my mother, my father has led the Bridge section of DeldOT for many years, leading me to want more for my life, such as following my dreams of becoming a pediatrician.”
