Nomination Statement
Daughter of Joseph and Shannon Dawson of Bear, Haylie Dawson is an ambitious and dedicated student. Her determination and academic excellence enable her to excel in school, and she is currently ranked first in her class with a 4.08 GPA. Haylie is an outstanding multitasker. She participates in Hodgson's cooperative employment program, working at First State Orthopedic, and is also a member of the lacrosse team. Haylie seamlessly juggles her dual-enrollment courses and extracurricular activities. She plans to pursue a degree in nursing after graduation.
“As I grew up, I only saw my failures. Then, my parents and I finally saw that I could do what I had dreamed of for years with a little extra effort. Over the years, it has been hard to keep up with everything, but I strived no matter where I was or what I was doing. I have learned how to become a leader and always take on any challenge with an open mind and different leadership styles.”
