Nomination Statement
Daughter of Amy and William Crotty of Lewes, Darcy is actively involved in the Youth Leadership Program and serves as a member of the advisory board for Freeman Assists Communities with Extra Support. She is also a board member of the Youth Philanthropy Board, both of which are highly regarded organizations. An AP Scholar with Distinction and an Academic All-Conference cross-country athlete, Darcy has earned a weighted GPA of 4.206.
“Growing up, my parents instilled in me the importance of education and hard work, values deeply rooted in my family's history. My grandfathers fought tirelessly for the opportunity to learn, with one taking 10 years to complete night school while the other rose to superintendent of the Caesar Rodney School District. Education is more than just a personal pursuit; it is a privilege that those before me struggled to secure. I am committed to honoring their legacy through my dedication.”
