Nomination Statement
Son of Jennifer and Paul Okagbare of Bear, Daniel Okagbare is a hardworking and ambitious student. Daniel is ranked first in his graduating class with a 4.648 cumulative grade point average. Daniel is enrolled in the Wilmington University Dual Enrollment Program. He is also an active member of Christiana's swim team and is serving his second consecutive term as the student representative for the Christina School District Board of Education. Daniel plans to continue his education and pursue a degree in aerospace engineering.
“Growing up, I always wondered what happened behind the white doors leading to my father's office. On any given day, his computer was riddled with calculations, numbers, and charts I had never seen before. Thus began my quest to understand the complex work of a chemist at the age of 8. While fueled by an admiration for my father, this quickly gave birth to a fiery passion for knowledge that I have carried throughout my life.”
