Nomination Statement
Angel Chavez-Santos is the son of Elvira Santos-Lopez and Saul Mendez of Seaford. Angel is a goal-oriented, focused and motivated young man. He ranks first in his class with a weighted GPA of 104.47. Angel has participated in soccer all four years in high school, was a RYLA participant and is a member of National Honor Society. In his spare time he enjoys playing soccer and spending time with friends and family. Angel plans to study biology at the University of Tampa and aspires to become an orthodontist.
“The person who motivates me to do well in school is my mom. Seeing as she was never given the privilege of finishing school and I am, it is only right that I take advantage of this opportunity. Becoming something that she can be proud of is what I strive for. Her wish for me to have a better future than her motivates me. Her belief in me makes me believe that I truly am capable of achieving anything.”
