Nomination Statement
Daughter of Andrea and Robert Meyer, Amelia Mae Meyer is a compassionate and creative student. She has a 4.61 GPA which she maintains while being a scholar athlete. Amelia is an Advanced Placement Scholar, captain of the varsity swim team, president of the Art Club, member of the Environmental Science Club and is a track and field athlete. She is also extremely proud of her project initiative to clean-up the canals of Fenwick Island. Amelia plans to study political science and international relations as she wants to pursue a career in law so that she can be an advocate for others.
“Growing up with multiple siblings has given me an innate sense of empathy. How could I leave others stranded when they ask for understanding and guidance? A world without people willing to show kindness and compassion with no strings attached is not one I wish to live in. So, I aspire to be that person for others who may be deprived of that support and cast aside. These are values which were instilled in me by my family, friends, and community.”
