Nomination Statement
Abigail Bledsoe is a hardworking, dependable, and enthusiastic leader who is president of Dickinson's Student Council and National Honors Society. She is ranked second in her graduating class with a 5.16 GPA. She has been part of the Delaware All-State Band as a bass clarinetist for four years. She has been captain of Dickinson's Softball and Field Hockey teams. She is an active member of Dickinson's Technology Student Association and the marching band. Abigail plans to attend the University of Delaware to pursue a degree in biomedical engineering and be part of the University of Delaware's marching band.
“My parents taught me that if I want something, I have to work hard for it. For instance, I wanted to be valedictorian. So I worked hard and got straight As throughout high school. In eleventh grade, I had to choose between valedictorian or band, my childhood dream. My parents reminded me that I should never discard my dreams for a medal. So I decided to continue with the band and it was the best decision I have made.”
