Nomination Statement
Sydnee Holt, daughter of Roger Holt and Kelly Holt, is a motivated, diligent, and considerate individual who always makes an effort to do her best. She serves as the president of the Student Government Association, student member of the Town of Smyrna's Planning and Zoning Commission, and an active member of HOSA - Future Health Professionals. She is also a two-year starter on SHS's state champion varsity volleyball team. She enjoys volunteering at local summer camps or coaching with Smyrna's Junior Volleyball League. In the fall, Sydnee will attend the University of Tennessee: Knoxville, majoring in biomedical engineering.
“Throughout my life, my mom has engraved the saying, 'If not now, when?' into my brain. It used to be a silly saying that she would use to get me to laugh whenever I was overthinking any sort of decision, but it has more meaning now. If I'm putting off doing something right now, when will I do it? This question has allowed me to push through my anxieties and reach places that I never believed I would make it to. ”
