Nomination Statement
Raye-Lee McDonald is a determined and passionate student who consistently strives for excellence. Engaging in a rigorous course load, she is ranked first in her graduating class with a 4.7 cumulative GPA. Raye-Lee is a student representative for the Superintendent Student Advisory Council. She is the founder and president of her school's Hydroponics Club, and she is the president of the Student Government Association and the National Honor Society. Multifaceted, she is also the Varsity Cheerleading Captain and the Stage Crew Manager. Raye-Lee plans to attend the University of Pennsylvania to pursue a degree in environmental studies.
“I wholeheartedly appreciate the recognition of my achievements and the encouraging words from peers, family members, and teachers. However, this is not what inspires my academic success. I cherish my education, and utilizing my knowledge to help others is my prerogative. I spent my high school years ensuring that I would be heard and helpful, prioritizing the enrichment of my schoolmates. I will preserve my values as I strive for a future as a leader and a changemaker.”
