“One kindergarten morning, I awoke with excruciating pain in my ankle. Eventually, I was diagnosed with JRA, now known as Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis, an autoimmune inflammatory disease. After periods of immobility, my joints can become painful and almost impossible to move. I quickly realized that the only practical solution for these instances was to start moving. Living with arthritis has brought me high pain tolerance and courage to overcome difficulty because it has been rooted in me my entire life.”
