Nomination Statement
Daughter of Matthew and Virginia Reader of Townsend, Josselyn Reader is a hardworking and ambitious student. She is ranked second in her graduating class with a 4.531 cumulative grade point average. Josselyn's love for reading and writing has been a constant in her life and this passion for literature has fueled her desire to pursue a career in the literary world, be it as a writer or an editor. Josselyn has been accepted into the University of Delaware's World Scholars Program where she will spend her first semester in Madrid, Spain as an English major.
“Growing up, my parents continuously taught me to do my best. In everything that I do, these words have stuck with me, encouraging me to pursue my interests (AP classes, NHS, theatre). My parents' support, the freedom to explore my interests, and the amazing people I've met along the way have encouraged me to keep my mind open and to utilize my interests (writing, in particular) to improve myself and the world around me, creating a promising future for all.”
