Nomination Statement
Fatima Cruz-Ocampo has taken advantage of all Delcastle Technical High School has to offer. Over four years, she actively pursued opportunities to equip herself for success. This included participation in dual enrollment courses, engaging in co-op experiences, and competing in CTSO events. Fatima consistently excelled academically and earning high grades. Beyond the classroom, she had remarkable success at the National HOSA competition, garnering top honors. Fatima blazed a trail for future students, becoming one of the first Medical Assisting co-op participants at Nemours Hospital. Her impact on Delcastle is undeniable, and her accomplishments foreshadow a future filled with significant achievements.
“I am most proud of being a medical assistant for Nemours, a winner of Delaware HOSA's medical assisting competition, an international finalist, and Delcastle's 2023 homecoming queen. My parents and siblings have been my biggest inspirations as they have given me nothing but love and support and my shop teachers have also been a huge help. Finally, my plans after high school include attending a four-year college for a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing and later getting a Master of Education degree.”
