Nomination Statement
Christopher Cuellar has been quietly making his way through ECHS@DSU with incredible academic prowess. He earned the right to take college classes at DSU when he was a sophomore at 15 years old. He has already earned over 50 college credits, and by the end of the school year, he will have close to 70 credits. He has been No. 1 in his class for every marking period since he was a freshman. We are so very proud of him!!!
“Since my earliest memories in life, I recall the constant repetition of three words, Stay in school," from my Hispanic family, and always wondered why they were so persistent. As I got older, I realized how much multiple family members struggled to make ends meet financially and emotionally from immigrating to a country with nothing except the passion to succeed. The same passion that my family had has aided my success and continues to do so to this day."”
