Nomination Statement
Dariana Fuentes-Ortiz, daughter of Brenda Ortiz of Newark, is an optimistic, devoted and remarkable young woman who excels academically and within the Dental Assisting Career Area. She is ranked at the top of her graduating class with a 4.23 cumulative grade point average. In addition to four dual enrollment courses, Dariana is one of three students who secured a highly coveted cooperative education opportunity at Nemours Children’s Hospital Pediatric Dental Clinic. A distinguished honor roll recipient, she is a member of NHS, Student Council, and the Animal Club. Dariana intends to major in nursing and become a neonatal nurse.

I realized that Delcastle gives me an opportunity and experience that not many students have in high school. This motivated me to go above and beyond. My mom was my main motivator and biggest supporter. Even through difficult times during COVID, she was always there to lift me up. This is why I am successful today.”
