Nomination Statement
Cora Hawkins is a senior in the Nurse Technology Program and is ranked first in her graduating class with a 4.19 cumulative GPA. Cora is a member of the varsity lacrosse team, HOSA-Future Health Professionals and National Honor Society. Outside of school, Cora is employed at Nemours Children’s Hospital. Her future plans include attending the University of Delaware to major in nursing. Cora is the daughter of Virginia and Douglas Hawkins of Bear.
“Through the rollercoaster of events in my life, my brother has stood beside me every step of the way. He taught me that you only live once and you should make the best of it. When the losses and grief hit their hardest, he was there to make me laugh and pick me back up. Although we are now apart, he has instilled in me the confidence and motivation that it takes to be the best version of me.”
