Nomination Statement
Ranked first in his class, Marcos is an AP Capstone recipient, AP Scholar with Distinction, a Carson Scholar, a Presidential Scholar nominee in the arts, and a National Merit finalist. As a student council officer, Marcos has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and innovative ideas that have helped cultivate a strong sense of community amongst his classmates. He made us proud as our nominee at the HOBY Leadership Conference and the Governor's School for Excellence. However, what truly sets Marcos apart is his talent as a musician and performer. Still weighing his college options, Marcos plans to major in musical theatre.
“Growing up in my home meant being immersed in a rich combination of musical, culinary, and linguistic traditions, inspired by my sister’s fierce passion for music and my mom’s work ethic and loving support. Throughout high school, I have made an effort to explore my curiosities, serve my community, and push my limits beyond what is expected of me. Through all the choices I have made, music has remained core to my identity, and it continues to drive my ambitions.”
