Nomination Statement
Yuchan Li, the daughter of Chunmei Ruan and Zhenfeng Li, is an outstanding student ranked second in her graduating class with a 4.517 GPA. Yuchan is interested in studying finance in college. She has participated in color guard, cheerleading, musicals, Math League, HOSA, Student Government and BPA, DECA, and the National Honor Society. She participated in nationals for BPA and DECA in her first year of participation. Yuchan volunteers at a local Chinese school that teaches children Chinese and dance. She also founded an International club at Newark High School called The United We Stand to promote different cultures.
“Since I was a young girl, I have had a passion for learning. I am curious about the world with a drive to succeed in everything I do. These qualities have been essential to what I have accomplished and will continue to drive me in the future. I have been inspired by numerous people in my life who have helped me gain knowledge and solidify my goals. I am passionate about making the world a better place, using finance to solve national and global challenges.”
